The Mari Lwyd is from old traditions from South Wales and was originally recorded in the 1800’s. She goes door to door during the darkest months of the year. Some say she is associated with the Christian religion others say she is associated with pagan Celtic ways for example Rhiannon in the Mabinogion rode a white horse.
